On our Rescue Route 2, your Jewish guide will take you for a 3-hour Jewish walking tour, followed by a 2-hour visit by car to Dragör fishing village.
During the tour your guide will tell you the amazing story of Danish Jewry from when the first Jews were invited by the king Christian 4th in 1622, to the present time.
During the walking tour you will pass many Copenhagen landmarks such as:
- Copenhagen’s historic city centre
- The historic Round Tower
- Christiansborg Palace,The Parliament
- Ströget, the main pedestrian street
- Börsen, the iconic stock exchangeVisit to the Copenhagen SynagogueThe walking tour includes a visit inside the Copenhagen Synagogue built in 1833.Visit to the Danish-Jewish MuseumThe walking tour also includes a visit to the Danish-Jewish Museum ”Mitzvah” to learn more about Jewish history in Denmark.After the visit to the Danish-Jewish Museum you are picked up by a driver in a limousine/ van for a visit to Dragör fishing village.Visit to the fishing village of DragörBrave fishermen helped more than 95 % of the Jewish population in Denmark to safety in Sweden.
In Dragör your guide will share her personal stories about the miraculous rescue of 7,000 Danish Jews in October 1943.
